Meeting called to order at 12:30 pm.
The Southwest Regional is coming fast, and there will be measuring for permanent height cards. Diana Peaton, Helena
Wolters and possibly Cliff Thomas will be measuring for those. So get your ponies that need it in early!
We need someone
to announce for English at the regional. If anyone is interested please let Diana Peaton know. They are also looking for someone
to judge trail concurrently to the rest of the show.
The members went
over what to do for hi-point and reserve. There is talk about getting trophies made, and possibly sheets made for the over-all
hi-points. For first place we are thinking of doing a ticket system, where the kids can earn tickets, then later use these
tickets to “purchase” items from the ticket table (horse supplies, other miscellaneous items). Or they may give
out rags, or bucket holders.
Sheryl will be
in charge of the potluck lunch on both days of the show. We may still need help for a breakfast potluck.
There will be
stalls available for $55 per pony for two nights, this includes two bags of shavings.
There will be
an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday right before the games. Helena Wolters is taking charge of getting around 400 eggs for all
the kids.
There will be
shirts available to buy for $14.00. If you want to order one ahead of time to make sure you get it in your size and color,
contact Ann Fisher. The colors are light blue and a sand color.
The May show will
be a Ponyrama, the September show will be a Ponyrama. You can earn a lot of points this year! There was a discussion about
trying to rent an arena from the Sandhills Ranch out in Queen Creek for the October show.
Helena is going
to be writing an article for the Bridle and Bit, so check in April for a POA article. Diana Peaton will be writing for the
local news in the POA magazine.
There was some
discussion about how the National club is rearranging their whole board and office. Sounds like some great improvement coming
up!
